Vision

The Institute serves as a platform to enhance the knowledge of novel discovery in pain management, and facilitate the transfer of such discovery into clinical practice, to ultimately achieve better pain relief and quality of life for society at large.

Mission

To translate novel discovery from scientific research into simple, safe and inexpensive tools and technology for pain relief
To coordinate interdisciplinary research programs, within CUHK and our sister universities in Hong Kong and abroad; and to conduct ground breaking and innovative research for the management of pain
To advance scientific knowledge and discovery in pain mechanisms
To educate and train the next-generation of scientists, clinicians, bio-engineers in pain medicine innovation
To share scientific discovery in pain medicine with researchers, clinicians, and public through educational activities and community engagement projects
